Creating this GODDAMN website!

Updated: Dec 31, 2020

Can You believe that as a graphic designer, manga creator, and Illustrator, I don't have a website? It's needless to say that in this day and age, anyone who's in business needs to have an online presence. Growing up alongside social media, I can work those apps like the back of my hand. But the one thing I absolutely dreaded was creating a website for myself.

I had taken a few web design and programming classes back in college, but all I remember was barely making it through those semesters. I avoided the subject like the plague in school, work, and even with freelance projects. That has been to my detriment as a graphic designer. I can't begin to tell you how much money I have left on the table simply because I couldn't build a client's website! But I have decided enough was enough. Before 2020 is out, I will set up my website (Even if it's on the last day of the year).

Let me tell you why it took so long. I made this resolution back in January, but the whole time I was daunted by the thought of having to learn code. Well, enter our lord and savior; WIX! This is not an ad, and I'm not being paid to say this; the process has been a hell of a lot easier than expected and I didn't have to write a single line of code. I woke up this morning at 7 am, logged onto wix.com and just went at it. There were a few bumps here and there, but with a little trial and error, I was able to figure it out. I've got to say, I am happy with my website.

I will still go back to try and learn a bit of HTML5, CSS, and Javascript because knowledge really is power (especially financially speaking).

To everyone out there that's in business, whether it's baking cookies or cutting hair, or whatever it may be, get yourself a website today. If you still feel overwhelmed, reach out to me and I'll help as best as I can. After all, I'm professional web designer and developer at this point.

Happy New Years Everyone!
